This week's trailer is for Not Every Girl by Jane McGarry. I love the picturesque scenes and dramatic music. Click on the book cover to watch it.
Olivia Davenport’s plan is destined to fail.
She is going through with it anyway, of course. After all, it is the chance of a lifetime. The unreasonable rules of others should not stand in her way.
In her small kingdom of Stewartsland, Olivia trains with the squires and harbors a secret dream. She longs to become a knight under the command of the Master-of–Arms, who just happens to be her father. He has indulged her passion so far, but they both know a simple fact – girls may not attain knighthood. Dismayed by the constant discouragement of her ambitions, she makes an impetuous decision to disguise herself as a boy in order to sneak on a mission. The consequences are not at all what she anticipated.
When her deception is revealed, she is sent home in disgrace; however, an unexpected turn of events puts her at the center of a dangerous plot against the King. The ensuing adventure finds her grappling with mercenaries and outlaws, yet these pale in comparison to her newly awakened emotions. She finds not only her life at risk, but also her heart, when the aloof Prince Liam begins to affect her in ways she never thought possible. In the end, it is her courage and unique spirit which must guide her through the challenges she encounters both physical and emotional.

If you dream of becoming a successful published writer you might find the following tips helpful:
Always be on the lookout for topics to write about and new markets. Look at the magazines in the newsagents or supermarkets. Do Internet searches for magazines on topics that interest you, e.g. craft magazines, short story markets, travel magazines. What about writing competitions? They are useful for getting you used to writing to a deadline and target word length.
If you want to be a published writer then you need to write regularly. Set aside some time for doing this, even if it’s only one day a week – and not necessarily the same day each week. Persevere. Writing, like all other trades, needs time and practice to develop.
Set your work out professionally, print on one side of the paper, double line spacing for fiction, easy to read font such as Times New Roman size 12, wide margins each side, your name and page number in the header. Study the submission details, make sure you adhere to them. If they ask for five pages, don’t send ten. If they ask you to paste your submission in the body of the email do that, don’t attach it – they won’t read it. Make sure your cover email is as professional as a cover letter.
Don’t let rejection get you down. I don’t know any author who has never had rejections. It’s part of a writer’s life and doesn’t always mean your work isn’t up to scratch. It could mean that you’ve sent it to the wrong magazine or the editor already has a similar work in the pipeline. Don’t give up. Carry on honing your skills and sending off your work. Hard work and perseverance will help you achieve your dream. Check out the this website to see some of the rejections famous writers such as Dr Seuss and Kenneth Grahame had. http://www.writersservices.com/magazine/rotten-rejection

Charles "Charlie" Murray II may be the heir presumptive to his father's industrial dynasty, but all he really wants is to create--be it drawings or a marketing campaign. When he's summoned to the home office to take over the position of CFO, he discovers his new assistant is the same woman who passed him a phony phone number in a diner the previous weekend. If he can figure out who's been stealing from the company, he just might attain the position of his dreams or will he sacrifice it all to be with Ella.
Want to Meet Ella and Charlie? Well, this is a short excerpt on what happened the day they met.
Taking a wobbly second step back, Ella’s heel slid on the slick tile flooring of the diner. Her feet flew out from under her, and she landed down on her backside in a matter of seconds. This couldn’t have been more embarrassing if she’d planned in every detail the best way to make a total fool of herself in front of a complete stranger. Then she connected with his amazing eyes as he looked down at her.
“Are you okay?” He offered her a hand up, but she could tell he held back a smile.
Great! He thought she was as much of a klutz as she did.
“I’m fine.” With his help, she came to her feet. Then she brushed off the back of her black dress pants.
“Are you sure?” His voice was as dreamy as the rest of him—low and smooth with just a trace of teasing. “Maybe I should check your eyes for a concussion.” His dark eyes danced with his restrained laughter.
“Are you a doctor?” She played along.
“No, I just always see them do that on TV.” He grinned. “Here.” In his hand, he held a packet of sweetener. “You wanted some of these, right?” His gaze wasn’t mocking, as she’d thought earlier. It was more like curious and amused.

Torn between following his heart, doing the right thing, and forgiving the past, Micah is lost in a whirlwind of pain and emotions.
