Writing Tuition

writingtuition

I have a BA (Open) degree, a Certificate in Education, a HNC in Media and many years of experience as a writing tutor. Until I moved from Cornwall I was a part time lecturer on the MA in Professional Writing course and the BA Illustration course at the University College, Falmouth, where I also ran Summer Schools on writing for the children's market.

I have tutored online for the TrAce Online Writing School, and via correspondence for the Open College of Arts. I now tutor for the London School of Journalism and the Writer's Bureau (I wrote several modules of their 'Writing for Children' course and their 'Write for Profit Using the Internet' course). I also wrote a study guide for the ICS 'Writing for Children' course.

I'm happy to give talks to writing groups and offer private writing tuition, mentoring or manuscript appraisal.

I do wish this book had been published when I first started that long `journey' of learning how to write for children. It would have saved me hours of staring at a blank piece of paper! Follow Karen's advice and you will be surprised how quickly it will transform your attitude, ideas and writing skills.

I have read your book, Get Writing Children's Fiction, and have enjoyed it tremendously. I found it's chatty style motivating and many of the ideas you put forward
thought provoking.

Kim.
